#ISSSTE.- The general director of the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Issste), Pedro Zenteno Santaella, handed over the new kitchen of the Clínica Hospital (CH) San José del Cabo, which had been paying a private individual for 20 years for food services for patients.

«These are small actions, but with great benefits that can be realized when practical judgment and common sense are used. This medical unit was paying 115 thousand pesos a month to private companies; therefore, the decision was made to invest 700 thousand pesos and put an end to this subcontracted service», he pointed out.

With the money from six months of payment for the food, work was carried out to adapt and equip the space. «These are actions that can be taken when the beneficiaries are put first and the resources are managed with honesty and transparency».

Ignacio Inzunza Tamayo, the sub-delegate of Administration of the Issste representation in Baja California Sur, informed the general director that, with the start-up of the new kitchen – where 100 daily rations are prepared – the monthly expense for meals is 32 thousand pesos, that is, it represents an average savings of 70 percent for this concept.
